TypeError in binary widget on non binary fields

When loading a model with a binary field which has no attachment a TypeError[1] appears.

This, can be reproduced by going to 'SEPA Messages' and the error will be shown when loading the form view after pressing the new button.

[1] TypeError: field.get_size is not a function

Indeed the issue is not that the field is empty but that it is the binary widget used on Char field.

With the review I'm not getting the TypeError anymore and I get the correct size, but when I upload a file in 'SEPA Messages' in the text box I'm getting this error: [object Uint8Array] it's related to the patch?
